A new DVD for 2017
Just over a year ago, some of us began to ask ourselves how we could better communicate about what goes on in and around our beautiful church of St Peter’s. The first result is this thirteen minute colourful DVD which sets to music one hundred photographs of the activities taking place over a typical year. The package also includes a leaflet which gives further detail and guidance on how you can make contacts to find out more about something in which you may have an interest. Other communication initiatives are also being developed, soon to be released.
On the DVD in addition to the expected offerings of baptisms, weddings, holy communion and funerals, there are some lovely pictures showing how the children get involved in Searchlights, the very popular Christingle service and round the village carol singing. A number of important ministries are illustrated including different aspects of prayer, meditation, school involvement and the recent innovation of the prayer shawl ministry. What goes on at Easter time, Harvest Festival and Remembrance commemorations is also well illustrated.
Mothers’ Union gets a good look in along with the Men’s Breakfast and Tea and Toast mornings. We are also proud to show off our Choir and Bellringers at work and play, the wonderful work our Flower Guild achieve, and some results from our fund raising activities.
Our church also offers a very picturesque setting for a variety of concerts and gatherings throughout the year and there is a final reminder of the way our church and village magazine ‘The Fisherman’ offers inspiration, news of future events, and commentaries on the work of the community, including the Parish Council.
The DVD will be offered free to those moving new into the village, but copies are now available from the church, the Post Office or from any Parochial Church Committee member in return for a donation to church funds. Or contact Warren Bradley.
We hope you enjoy the show.
